IT DAY 2019

On March 14, 2019, the Office of Information Technology at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale hosted the largest technology conference in Southern Illinois, IT Day 2019. This event’s agenda was robust with exciting presentations, working sessions, demonstrations, campus technology tours along with other activities that were designed to open your eyes and challenge your mind.

IT Day 2019 was designed to provide information technology professionals a unique opportunity to build relationships, exchange ideas, and explore technology trends. We extended an invitation to SIU faculty, staff and students as well as the local community to encourage our academic and business colleagues to bring exclusive perspectives to the event.

IT Day 2019 opened with a candid roundtable discussion between Jeromy Franks/Senior Education Advisor from Gartner, Rajiv Shenoy/Chief Technology Officer from Apogee, Martin Klubeck/Strategy & Planning Consultant University of Notre Dame, Frank Myers/Business Value Consultant of Splunk, and Deb Barnett/Director of Business Incubator Programs of SIU-C: Driving Success with Technology—How technology affects our workplaces, academic spaces, and the people in them.

Compelling keynote speakers followed with technology-centric topics in managing data, solving problems and leveraging organizational changes.

Afternoon sessions included deeper dives into keynote topics with speaker-hosted master classes as well as team workshops, breakout sessions, mediascapes, demonstrations and SIU campus technology tours.

Topic-driven talk tables provided plenty of opportunities to meet colleagues with similar interests and network.

All pre-registered attendees received a FREE breakfast, lunch and snacks.
